Officers of HMS Minerva at Port Amelia, October 1918 (2 of 2)

Here we see the officers of the Eclipse class cruiser HMS Minerva sitting in front of a Portuguese gun at Port Amelia (modern Pemba in Mozambique) in October 1918. This looks to be a very elderly breech loading cannon, probably more of a symbolic piece than a real part of the port's defences.

Many thanks to Ian Fagg for providing us with these pictures. If anyone knows anything more about this cannon and its fate could they please get in touch!
