HMS Holmes drops depth charge off Normandy
Here we see a depth charge exploding behind the captain class frigate HMS Holmes, off the Caens end of the Normandy bridgehead after D-Day. A possible submarine had been detected, but the German Navy didn't attack in the strength that was expected.
