HMS Hero turret ram
Here we see the Conqueror class turret ram HMS Hero. One of her rear 6in guns can be seen in its turret. This view shows the stern of the ship - the bow was much lower and was intended for use as a ram, after that ancient naval weapon had a brief revival in the aftermath of the American Civil War.
