Anti-aircraft Cruiser HMS Glenmore

Anti-aircraft Cruiser HMS Glenmore
Here we see one of the more unusual British auxiliary warships of the second world war, the paddle steamer and anti-aircraft cruiser HMS Glenmore. She was built for use on the Bristol Channel, crossing from Ilfracombe to Swansea, but was taken over by the Royal Navy and converted into an anti-aircraft ship. Although she was best suited to coastal waters, she also took part in the evacuation from Dunkirk!
