HMS Glasgow under fire off Normandy
Here we see the Southampton class cruiser HMS Glasgow coming under fire from German shore batteries while operating off the coast of Normandy in 1944. This picture was probably taken on 25-26 June when she was supporting the American attack on Cherbourg and took part in a gunnery duel with German guns at Querqueville.
