HMS Edinburgh after use as target, 1908
Here we see the Colossus class turret ship HMS Edinburgh after she had been used as a target during tests of shells and armour plating in 1908. When completed in 1887 the Edinburgh was an advanced ship, introducing breach loading guns and composite armour.
