HMS Defender seen sinking from HMS Vendetta

Here we see the D class destroyer HMS Defender sinking from the V class destroyer HMAS Vendetta, several hours after she was damaged by a near miss from a German bomber while returning from Tobruk on 11 July 1941. An attempt was made to tow her to safety, but she started to break up and had to be sunk. There were no casualties on the Defender.
