Petty Officer's Mess on HMAS Vendetta

Here we see the Petty Officer's mess on the V class destroyer HMAS Vendetta, while she was returning to Jacquinot Bay after carrying a representative of General Sturdee to surrender negotiations with the Japanese garrison of Rabaul in September 1945. The end of hostilities has clearly lifted the mood in the mess!
