HMAS Hobart from the left
Here we see the modified Leander class cruiser HMS Hobart, one of three members of that sub class, all of which were sold to Australia. By the time this picture was published in a US Recognition magazine in 1945 her sister ships HMAS Syndey and HMAS Perth had both been lost and the Hobart had been badly damaged and was out of service from the summer of 1943 until the spring of 1944.
