Squadron of Handley Page Heyford bombers

Here we see a squadron of Handley Page Heyford bombers on an unknown airfield (possibly in Lincolnshire). The Heyford was one of the more unusual looking British biplane bombers, with its fuselage attached to the upper wing, while the bomb bay was in the central section of the lower wing. The size of the aircraft is demonstrated by the figures in front of the second aircraft in line, with the nose of the fuselage looming high above them.

Many thanks to Jackie Raby for sending us this picture.
