Handley Page Halifax Mk.II Series 1 in flight
This picture shows the perils of relying on wartime captions. The US Recognition Magazine lists this as a picture of two Halifax Mk.Is, which did have the 'Z' shaped nose (partly hidden here as the nose turret details have disappeared), and the triangular tail fins, but this is actually a Halifax Mk.II Series 1, the first version to carry the dorsal turret that can be seen on both aircraft.
