Here we see the final parade of the Guards Armoured Division on 10 June 1945, with Montgomery in an armoured car taking the salute as the Guards went back to being infantry. The enthusiasim with which they gave up their useful military role was quite telling! The nearest tanks are the Sherman Firefly with its long gun, while some other types with shorter guns can be glimpsed in the rear
