Grumman Avenger dropping torpedo at Bougainville
Here we see a Grumman TBF Avenger dropping a torpedo
(slightly touched up at the time to make the top of the torpedo show up. One British wartime publication captions this picture as Torpedo Attack at Bougainville, but the contemporary American Naval Aviation News doesn't make the same claim.
