German Artillery in Norway, 1945

Here we see a German gun position somewhere in Norway, with one gun clearly visible in the centre of the picture. The picture was probably taken by Charles Rendell while his squadron (No.129 Squadron) was moving by train from Trondheim on the west coast of Norway to Jessheim near Oslo on 15 July 1945.

Many thanks to Pauline Law for allowing us to post these pictures, which came from her father Charles Rendell's collection. He served with the service echelons for No. 170 Squadron and then No.129 Squadron, and took part in the post-war liberation of Norway
