French Partisans during Operation Dragoon
Here we see an early meeting between US troops and French partisans soon after Operation Dragoon. The partisans played a significant role in the fighting in the south of France, although some of their operations, such as the uprising on the Vercors, took place too early, allowing the Germans to defeat them before the Allies had landed in the south.
