Fairchild C-82 Prototype
Here we see the Fairchild XC-82 serial number 43-13202. This aircraft was meant to compete with the C-47 Dakota and C-46 Commando, but only just over 200 were produced, starting too late to have any real impact. The C-82 was later developed into the more succesful C-119 Flying Boxcar, and this wartime photograph actually called the C-82 the Boxcar.
