Plans of Fairchild C-82 Packet
Here we see plans of the Fairchild C-82 Packet, a purpose built military transport that introduced a number of important features including large rear loading doors, a high tail to allow a truck to drive up to the doors and a level cargo deck. However it suffered from a number of design flaws and was only produced in small numbers for the period. This included the location of the flight deck which took up too much cargo space.
