Dinant and the Citadel

Dinant and the Citadel
This picture shows the Meuse at Dinant, with the Citadel looming above the town. The Citadel was rebuilt in 1821. Dinant was the scene of one of the worst war crimes committed by German troops during the invasion of Belgium, when 674 civilians were executed by Saxon troops on 23 August 1914.
