Here we see a Dido class cruiser taking part in the bombardment of Anzio during the Italian campaign. All eight of her main guns were engaged, firing over the landing fleet, which can just be made out in the distance.
This is a later member of the class, which were armed with eight 4.5in guns in four twin turrets instead of the ten 5.25in guns in five twin turrets of the earlier members of the class.
