Charles de Gaulle marching through Arc de Triomphe
Here we see Charles de Gaulle marching under the Arc de Triomphe during his march through Paris on 26 August 1944. At this point there were still some Germans fighting on, so the crowds greeting de Gaulle were fired on in the Place de la Concorde, and at Notre Dame.
