De Gaulle addressing French National Assembly, Algiers, 1944
Here we see General de Gaulle addressing the French National Assembly in exile in Algiers on 18 June 1944, after a visit to the Normandy beachhead on 14 June, during which he had set up the French Provincial Government, to make sure that the Americans couldn't impose their own administration in the country.
