Damaged bridge at Vernon
Here we see a tempory foot bridge that has been built on the remains of the partly destroyed road bridge across the Seine at Vernon, one of the places where the British first crossed the river in 1944. Some of the original bridge piers remained intact, and carried a more level portion of bridge.
