Curtiss O2C-1 (F8C-5) Helldiver, New York, 1932
Here we see a group of Curtiss O2C-1 Helldivers from the Naval Reserve Air Squadron at Floyd Bennett Field, New York, preparing for the 1932 races at Cleveland, Ohio. The O2C-1 was originally ordered as the Curtiss F8C-5, a land based version of the F8C-4 carrier based aircraft, but was intended for use from land, and was soon redesignated as the O2C.
