Curtiss NC-1 at Garden City, 1918
Here we see the Curtiss NC-1 at the company's Garden City plant in New Jersey during 1918. At this point the NC-1 was still in its original configuration, with three tractor engines. However this didn't provide enough power for the planned trans-Atlantic flight, so a fourth engine was mounted below the middle engine, this time as a pusher.
