Fifteen Curtiss N-9s at Pensacola
Here we see fifteen Curtiss N-9 floatplain trainers on the beach at the US Navy's base at Pensacola. These aircraft are a mix of the two main varients. Those numbered in the 400s are from a Burgess built batch of Curtiss OXX powered N-9Cs, A409 to A438. Those aircraft in the 2280 range are from a batch of five Hispano-Suiza powered N-9Hs built by Curtiss themselves (A2286 to A2290), with the rest being built by Curtiss's fully owned Burgess subsiduary.
