Curtiss HS-1 outside Hangers, Aber Wrach

Here we see a number of Curtiss HS-1 flying boats outside the hangers at the US Naval Air Station at Aber Wrac'h in Finistère, at the western tip of Brittany, on 28 October 1918. The HS-1 was one of the few American designed aircraft to see active service in Europe during the First World War, and this gives some idea of the scale of their use.
