Churchill watching AA guns firing on V-1s
Here we see Churchill during a visit to an anti-aircraft battery in action against the V-1 flying bombs. The picture was taken on 30 June 1944, the same month in which the v-1 campaign began. Eventually the band of anti-aircraft batteries along the coast dealt with most V-1s before they could cross over the British coast.
