Here we see a Consolidated Catalina in the maintenance area, on the slipway at Kipevu, on the shores of the lagoons that seperate Mombasa island from the mainland, in May 1946. Note the scaffold used to give access to the engines, allowing the ground crew to work on the port engine.
Many thanks to Michael Hopkins for sending us these pictures, which came from his father's collection, and came towards the end of his RAF service, which lasted from August 1941 to November 1946.
