Captain C.F.W. Norris of HMS Bellona, 1944
Here we see Captain Charles Fred Wivell Norris during his time as commander of the cruiser HMS Bellona. On 5 August 1944 Norris was given command of Force 26 (Bellona and the destroyers Tartar, Ashanti, Haida and Iroquois). On the following day this force attacked two German convoys off St. Nazaire, sinking two mine sweepers, a patrol boat, one merchant ship and possibly sinking the aircraft repair ship Richtofen. After the war Norris rose to the rank of Vice Admiral and served as Commander-in-Chief in the Far East in the 1950s.
