RAF Bombing of Niksic, 1944
Here we see bombs exploding in the Yugoslav town of Niksic (now in Montenegro) on 8 April 1944, after the Allies were asked to bomb the town by Marshal Tito. The raid was carried out by Wellington bombers based in Italy, escorted by Spitfires. The aim of the raid was to force the Germans to withdraw from Niksic.
