Blown Bridge on Lille to Aachen Road
This bridge on the road between Lille and Aachen was blown by the retreating Germans as they pulled back towards the Siegfried Line. In this sector at least this didn't achieve much, as the line was soon penetrated around Aachen, which became the first German city to fall to the western Allies on 21 October 1944.
