Blohm und Voss Bv 222 on the water
Here we see a Blohm und Voss Bv 222 'Wiking' on smooth water, with one crewman visible emerging from the nose. The three engines on the starboard wing can be identified by their propellors. This is the first prototype, V1, which had the civil registration D-ANTE. This aircraft saw extensive service, but was lost after an accident in Piraeus Harbour in February 1943.
