Barges sunk at Pesaro
Here we see a line of barges sunk by the Germans in Pesaro harbour to deny the use of the port to the Allies. Pesaro fell soon after the start of Operation Olive, the first Allied attack on the Gothic Line, which began on 25 August 1944.
