Nissen Huts, RAF Ballykelly, 1944

Here we see some of the Nissen Huts at RAF Ballykelly, Northern Ireland. The Nissen Hut was one of the mainstays of the massive expansion of British military bases during the Second World War.

Many thanks to Peter Claydon for sending us these pictures, which belonged to his father, C.W.J. Claydon, who spent much of the war serving as a medical officer with No.120 Squadron at Ballykelly, Northern Ireland.
