Tail Turret of Avro Lincoln

A view of the tail turret of the Avro Lincoln, a Boulton Paul. 'D' Mk.1 carrying two 0.5in Browning No.2 Mk II machine guns. Next to the turret is John Blaber, a gunner during the Second World War who re-enlisted after the war.

This picture is from the collection of John Blaber, an RAF gunner who served during the Second World War and re-enlisted after the war, serving with No.100 Squadron and later in photo-reconnaissance with either No.6 or No.13 Squadron in the Far East. These pictures were taken during his time at RAF Tengah, and were provided by his nephew, Colin Proctor. More pictures can be found at http://john-blaber.expertgates.com
