Avro Lincoln B.Mk 2 in Flight (2 of 2)

A close-up view of Avro Lincoln B.Mk 2 HW-G of No.100 Squadron, probably seen over the Malaysian jungle during 1950. The long barrels of the 20mm cannon in the upper turret can just be seen. This picture shows how similar the Lincoln was to the Lancaster, with only the nose giving away its identity.

This picture is from the collection of John Blaber, an RAF gunner who served during the Second World War and re-enlisted after the war, serving with No.100 Squadron and later in photo-reconnaissance with either No.6 or No.13 Squadron in the Far East. These pictures were taken during his time at RAF Tengah, and were provided by his nephew, Colin Proctor. More pictures can be found at http://john-blaber.expertgates.com
