Avro Lancastrian G-AGLF from below-left
Here we see an Avro Lancastrian, a modified version of the Avro Lancaster. This aircraft, G-AGLF, made a demonstration flight from Britain to New Zealand, travelling 13,500 miles in three days 14 hours, at an average speed of 220mph. The Lancastrian scored well on range and speed, but had limited space so was good at carrying heavy cargo, but not as a passenger aircraft.
