Carrying Assault Boat to Vernon on the Seine
Here we see British troops heading towards the Seine at Vernon, carrying one of the assault boats that will be used to cross the river on 25-26 August 1944. These boats were designed to be fairly easy to carry, and to be rowed across the river by their troops.
