Aiche E16A 'Paul' from the rear
Here we see a Aichi E16A 'Paul' floatplane reconnaissance aircraft and dive bomber from the rear. This was designed to be carried on the crusiers and battleships of the Japanese navy, but didn't enter service until 1944 by which time the Americans had gained control of the skies over the Pacific. Only 256 examples of the E16A were built, and many were lost during the fighting in the Philippines or used as kamikaze aircraft off Okinawa.
