Here we see the damage caused to the Guards' Chapel at Wellington Barracks by the most destructive V-1 blast of the Second World War. The V-1 hit during morning service on Sunday 18 June 1944, and the roof collapsed onto the congregation. A total of 121 people were killed and 141 wounded
