USS Worden (DD-352) run aground, 1942
Here we see a series of small boats rescuing the crew of the Farragut class destroyer USS Worden (DD-352) on 12 January 1942 after she ran aground trying to leave Constantine Harbor, Amchitka Island in the Aleutians on 12 January 1943. The ship in the foreground is her sister ship USS Dewey (DD-349), which helped rescue the crew of the stricken Worden.
