USS William B Preston (DD-344) in 1927
Here we see the Clemson class destroyer USS William B. Preston (DD-344) during 1927, anchored in a very calm sea - the mirror effect may well what be attracted the photographer. She spend much of 1927 in Chinese waters, where the Nationalist KMT captured Nanking and Shanghai, triggering a direct confrontation with the western Navies at Nanking.
