USS Wasp (CV-18) in the Atlantic, 1969
Here we see the Essex class carrier USS Wasp (CV-18) underway in the Atlantic on 9 April 1969, more than a decade after her conversion into a CVS (anti-submarine carrier) in 1956. Note the angled flight deck which had been installed in 1955.
