Stern view of USS Spence (DD-512), San Francisco, 1943
Here we see a stern view of the Fletcher class destroyer USS Spence (DD-512), in San Francisco Bay on 24 July 1943. After entering service she had been used in the Altlantic, but she was then ordered to move to the Pacific, and on the day after this picture was taken she departed for Pearl Harbor.
