USS Selfridge (DD-357) during inclining experiment, 1944
Here we see the Porter class destroyer USS Selfridge (DD-357) tilting away from the camera during an inclining experiment at Mare Island on 24 March 1944. This was being carried out after she had a new bow installed to replace one damaged during the battle of Vella Lavella (6 October 1943)
