USS Rupertus (DD-851) fighting fires on Forrestal (CVA-59), Vietnam, 1967
Here we see the Gearing class class destroyer USS Rupertus (DD-851) fighting fires on the carrier USS Forrestal (CV-59) off Vietnam in July 1967. The fire had been triggered by the accidental launch of a missile and burned for hours, killing 134 and injuring 161 men
