USS Roe (DD-418) rescuing crew of B-29
Here we see the Sims class destroyer USS Roe (DD-418) picking up the crew of a B-29 on 14 December 1944, after they had been lost at sea for eleven days. Their life rafts can be seen alongside the rear of the destroyer.
