Aerographer on USS Randolph (CV-15)
Here we see Aerographer's mate Walter L. Timmons recording temperature, humidity and pressure data readings from a weather balloon that has been sent up by the Essex class carrier USS Randolph (CV-15) on or just before 15 June 1945. The machine he is using is a RAU-2 Radio SOUDE receiving and recording equipment
