Insigia of USS Noa (DD-343)
Here we see a semi-official insignia of the Clemson class destroyer USS Noa (DD-343), produced in a number of versions around 1940 after she was modified to carry a single spotter aircraft. This version has Popeye piloting a winged spinach can, with a small destroyer (not directly modeled on the four funneled Noa) seen on the globe below. Different versions exist, some without Popeye and others with him dropping bombs from the flying can.
