Mk 4 FD Radar Antenna on USS Nicholas (DD-449)
Here we see the antenna of the MK 4 FD fire control radar mounted on top of the older Mk 37 gunnery director of the Fletcher class destroyer USS Nicholas (DD-449). The picture is dated 17 January 1944, when she was at San Francisco for an overhaul.
